We founded Sky Mavis over six years ago. Time flies. Our industry has changed a lot since those early days, and we’ve weathered many storms along the way. However, our story is still unfolding. Today, we’re taking a look back on the last six months of our journey. Sky Mavis, Axie Infinity, and Ronin have grown at a blistering pace, and it’s as good a time as any to take stock of where we stand on our mission. Welcome to the H1 2024 Mid-Year Recap!
Ronin’s Relentless Rise
Ronin had a big first half. Binance and Coinbase listed RON. Daily Active Addresses surged to an all-time high of 1.5M. Over 3M users downloaded the Ronin Wallet in six months. Ragnarok also joined the Ronin movement, and Kaidro’s Spark Suit mint drew $2M in primary sales alone. This breakout period cemented Ronin’s dominance as the #1 gaming chain in the world, and we set our sights even higher by introducing the Ronin Forge and zkEVM in June.

Axie Infinity
Axie forged new paths and saw impressive growth in H1. The Axie Governance Portal gave rise to an Axie Score prototype as Lunacia held its first nation-wide vote. At the same time, Origins MAU was climbing to its one-year high of 156K! The launch of the Bounty Board’s Play-to-Rice campaign also drove growth in both Origins and Classic: MAU has increased almost every week since its launch in April. On the Homeland front, DAU doubled after the team hosted new events like the Cooking Showdown and the Adventurer’s Rush.

Sky Mavis
Sky Mavis laid the groundwork for continued growth. In January, the MPC wallet account service went LIVE, which makes Ronin games more accessible than ever. One account, infinite experiences. In the same month, Mavis Store opened and went on to play a pivotal role in several NFT mints including Ragnarok: Monster World, Wild Forest, and even a variety of Axie games. Sky Mavis also welcomed new Mavis Seeds to the office as both Axie and Ronin teams navigated two big quarters alongside each other – and this is just the beginning.
Final Thoughts
This mid-year recap is the culmination of more than 6 years of work full of soaring highs and gritty winters. In 2018, Axie Infinity launched to a group of about 300 players, and Ronin was born a few years later. Sky Mavis went on to shape an entire industry and has carved out many paths others have followed since then. Today, yet another new era of crypto adoption is upon us – and we’re ready for it.
